Bow Hunter Walkthrough

Bow Hunter is a fairly basic, but incredibly challenging bow hunting game in which you are given five arrows and challenged to make them count. Once you run out of arrows your game is over. For those familiar with bow hunting games, this one is probably going to be a bit on the simple side, but it's definitely still worth playing. The graphics are fairly good as far as hunting games go and the fact that you can challenge a friend to compete against you adds a competitive dimension to the game that is often missing from games in this genre. What makes this one a bit more difficult than more traditional hunting games is the fact that you're using a bow and arrow instead of a gun. This aspect of the game is likely to please experienced players as it offers something a little different. There's a lot to keep in mind when you're taking your shot and you don't have a lot of time to think about it. You need to make sure you have your bow positioned right and that you have the right amount of power behind your shot. If you don't, you'll miss your shot. Newcomers to the genre are definitely going to have a hard time with this one, but it's well worth the effort. Stick with it. You'll improve the more you play.

The greatest thing about Bow Hunter is the fact that you get your score based on where you hit the deer. This is fairly standard in deer hunting games, but it's done a bit differently in this one. You have the basic target shown on the deer to hit. How close you are to that target will determine how many points you get for the kill. This gives more experienced players something more to aim for. Once you've used all five arrows, you can play again to try to get a better score. That's when the game really becomes addictive. Trying to beat your own high score or trying to beat your friend makes this game a lot more engrossing; even if you find the shooting too simplistic. Newcomers, on the other hand, may want to just focus on hitting the deer instead of aiming for the targets - at least in the beginning. Simply hitting the deer is going to be hard enough for someone with next to no experience with bow hunting games. Don't make it more complicated by trying to get an excellent score right away. Once you're a little more comfortable with the controls and you're not struggling to hit the deer, you can start trying for better scoring shots.

Overall, Bow Hunter is a great hunting game that offers a basic premise, a basic goal and lots of fun. The real beauty of this game is the simplicity of it. There are no upgrades to save for. There are no bonuses to collect. This game is all about hunting. If you've lined up the perfect shot and the deer disappears, hold the shot for a while. Another deer is bound to pop up in that spot. A little patience will be rewarded with a great shot. It will also keep you from wasting the few arrows you have on shots fired into the woods at nothing. If you are a fan of deer hunting games or bow hunting games, this is definitely one you should try out.
