Crack Shot Walkthrough
Crack Shot is an excellent hunting game that will challenge you to find the best way to take out all of your targets as quickly as possible in a wide variety of scenarios. This definitely isn't your average hunting game. To do well, you will need to think carefully about every shot you take. You have a limited number of bullets and getting a decent score is vital for progressing in the game. The first few levels start off fairly easily which will allow you the chance to get used to how the game is played. This will be great for newcomers to hunting games whose shooting skills still leave a little to be desired. You can play a level as many times as you need to in order to get a decent score. This gives you ample time to practice and sharpen your skills before you move on to tougher levels.
The basic premise behind Crack Shot is pretty easy to understand. Basically, you're in the Wild West and you're taking part is some good, old fashioned target practice. You need to complete each level by shooting all of the targets as quickly as possible. The faster you finish the level, the better score you'll get. There are all manner of bonuses you can try for - bullet bonuses (which you get based on how many bullets you have left at the end of each level) and time bonuses being the most easy to try for. Each level also has an 'expert score'. More experienced hunting game players are going to love this added level of challenge. It gives them a little something extra to strive for which will make the game even more fun. Newcomers may want to wait until they're comfortable with the game to try for expert scores, but the great thing about this game is that you can go back to earlier levels and try to get a better score. Newcomers can go through a few levels, or even the majority of the game and then go back to previous levels to try to get that expert score.
Crack Shot isn't just a straight ahead hunting game which is perhaps what makes it so appealing. Instead of just aiming and firing at targets as they pop up or move across the screen, you are shooting at stationary targets, but they're often obscured by various obstacles. Some obstacles will riccochet your shot so you can use them to help you reach targets you would otherwise not be able to reach. As you play, you'll get ingame instructions telling you which objects will riccochet you shot and which objects will just absorb them so make sure you pay attention. Trial and error will help you figure out anything you miss in the instructions. If you're not completely sure something will riccochet your bullet, give it a try. You can retry the level if it doesn't.
The key to doing well in Crack Shot is to pay attention to any ingame instruction you receive and to carefully plan your shots. It doesn't take a lot of time to do. Look at where you need your bullet to go and figure out what you need to do to get it there. That might sound like an over simplification, but it's really not. Figure out the angle you'll need to hit for a riccochet shot to hit the target you're going for. The great thing is that often times in this game you don't need to hit the angle exactly. As long as you can get it close, you should still be able to hit the target. Fire shots as quickly as you can as well. This helps you get a lower time which will help you get a better score. For example, in the care of multiple targets in a row, don't wait for the first target to be completely destroyed to fire another shot. Levels are unlocked three at a time and are only unlocked once you reach a certain number of points. For example, you need to get a score of 2,500 total points on the first three levels to unlock the next three. By the time you get to the point where you need to unlock the last three levels, you will need a total score of no less than 8,000. Remember though, you have the first nine levels to get those 8,000 points and you can go back and replay any of the levels to increase your score.
Overall, Crack Shot is an excellent hunting game that will challenge you to shoot quickly and carefully. It's a great game for anyone regardless of their skill or experience level with hunting games. More experienced players are going to love striving for expert scores while newcomers are going to love the fact that they have the chance to hone their skills on easier levels before things get really complex. The controls are easy to use, the graphics are great and the game offers a decent challenge. If you consider yourself a fan of hunting games, shooting games or strategy games, you need to give this one a shot. It's far too much fun to pass up.
